VALUEWASTE participated at “Klimafolkemødet” the Climate People’s Meeting in Middelfart on 1, 2 and 3 September 2022. The project was represented with a stand staffed with representatives from Food and Biocluster Denmark, Kalundborg Symbiosis and Kalundborg Municipality (VALUEWASTE project partners).

The stand was staffed throughout the opening hours, Thursday and Friday from 10 am – 7 pm and Saturday from 10 am – 3 pm. At the stand, we had commissioned Charlotte Bay (BUGAMOK) to cook with insects, spread awareness of this future protein source, and engage in dialogue with the guests.

During the three days, more than 500 taste samples of food containing insect protein and approximately 300 servings of insect snacks. The team talked with 200 – 250 people about insects as a source of protein in the meals of the future and about the VALUEWASTE project.

Many guests visited the stand: school classes, politicians, municipal employees, experts and NGOs. But also many citizens who had chosen to visit “Klimafolkemødet” (the Climate People’s Meeting) stopped by our stand for a small meal and a chat.

Campaign: #BePartoftheCycle

The second communication campaign of the project is working now to promote products valorised from biowaste to citizens and children, showing the population its the potential and possibilities. Here, more information about the whole campaign.
